Dear colleagues,

A surgeon who is an expert in their field not only wants to apply their knowledge in daily practice but also to pass it on to younger colleagues through education. This was the main motive for me to start the project of Priora International Medical Centre in Čepin, Croatia. In this center, we provide top-notch surgical treatment and education alongside the most esteemed experts from both within the country and abroad.

I have gained extensive experience in personnel training, working at the University of Innsbruck, Austria for 11 years and in Munich where, as the head of one of the largest German clinics for plastic surgery, I had the opportunity to educate more than 80 young plastic surgeons in the last 20 years. It is precisely this experience that motivated me to open the “Prof. Ninkovic International Surgical Academy”, which will focus on training professionals in all areas of surgery with a special emphasis on plastic, reconstructive, esthetic, and hand surgery.

Personal success in surgery is only possible if young doctors have exceptional mentors who provide selfless education. This was precisely the case for my generation in Sarajevo during the 1980s, where we were fortunate to have unforgettable teachers and specialists who, through their work, dedication, and compassion, educated all subsequent generations. Collaboration with other clinics, especially with Ljubljana and the then-leader in reconstructive surgery, Marko Godina, provided us with the opportunity to meet the global elite and socialize with them at the Plastic Surgery School in the first week of September.

This inaugural Meeting at Prof. Ninkovic Academy is organized as a token of gratitude to all our teachers and with the desire to reunite all old friends, thus creating a platform for exchanging experiences between renowned surgeons and the new ideas of upcoming generations. This is the idea behind the Prof. Ninkovic Academy.

It is my wish to invite all generations of surgeons who have built exceptional careers around the world with the aim of transferring their knowledge and experience to the next generation. This event should be the perfect opportunity for old friends to reunite, share unforgettable experiences, and establish a new network across generations.

The most prominent names in plastic, reconstructive and esthetic surgery will be joining us at this congress. All participants will have the chance to interact with surgeons who will inspire their personal development over these four days.
