Dear Participants,
Thank you for joining us at the inaugural congress of the International Surgical Academy Prof. Ninković (ISAN), held from October 24–26, 2024, in Čepin. It was truly a pleasure to welcome you to the stunning Terra Negra congress hall, where Čepin became a temporary epicenter of global surgical excellence.
Under the leadership of Professor Milomir Ninković, MD, PhD, ISAN’s founder, the congress provided a platform for knowledge exchange, shared experiences, and the creation of lasting professional connections. Every participant, from distinguished speakers to passionate attendees, contributed to the success of this event. The official opening, attended by County Governor Mate Lukić, Rector of the University of Osijek Professor Dr. Vlado Guberac, and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Professor Dr. Ivica Mihaljević, underscored the importance of initiatives like these for advancing medicine in the region.
Unforgettable moments included a lecture by Professor Samir Mardini, MD, PhD, from the Mayo Clinic, offering new perspectives in reconstructive surgery, and the inspiring story of patient Theo Kelz, who shared his journey through double hand transplantation. His story of recovery left a profound impact on all present.
The congress was more than a professional gathering—it was a meeting of a community dedicated to innovation and progress in medicine. Participants departed enriched with knowledge, motivated to face future challenges, and equipped with new ideas for collaboration. ISAN remains committed to ongoing education and fostering spaces for professional exchange that drive groundbreaking achievements.
